U.S. 1 Bridge Closure in Jupiter: What You Need to Know for July 25–28
July 23, 2025If you live in or travel through Jupiter, FL, mark your calendar—the U.S. 1 Bridge will be fully closed from 11:00 PM on Friday, July 25 through 6:00 AM on Monday, July 28. This temporary closure is part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) major bridge replacement project.
During this time, the bridge will remain in the open position to allow alignment and testing work. There will be no access across the bridge for vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists for the duration of the weekend.
Why It’s Closing
FDOT is continuing progress on the full replacement of the U.S. 1 Bridge. The weekend closure is necessary for critical alignment and system testing. While it might be a temporary inconvenience, it’s all part of building a stronger, more reliable bridge for the future.
Marine Traffic
Boaters, you’re still in luck. Marine traffic will be able to pass through using on-demand half-channel openings throughout the weekend.
Detour Routes
Planning to drive through the area? Here’s how to get around:
-
Northbound: Take Indiantown Road west to Alternate A1A, then head north to reconnect with U.S. 1
-
Southbound: Take Alternate A1A south to Indiantown Road, then head east to return to U.S. 1
Make sure to leave extra time if you’re traveling through Jupiter that weekend.
Ongoing Nightly Closures
This isn’t just a one-time detour. From now through August 2025, the bridge may also be closed overnight Sunday through Thursday, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. These nighttime closures will follow the same detour routes.
Plan Ahead
Whether you’re commuting to work, heading to the beach, or just running errands—expect delays. Navigation apps like Google Maps and Waze typically adjust for closures, so it’s worth checking routes before you hit the road.
This project is another reminder of how quickly Jupiter is evolving. With infrastructure upgrades like this, we’re making room for growth—both on land and on the water.
